Paul Ohakim is Vice President, Issuing and Acquiring (Africa) at Verve International, Africa’s leading domestic payment card scheme. With over a decade in banking before joining Interswitch Group, where he has now spent more than 10 years, Paul brings deep expertise in digital payments, ecosystem expansion, and market strategy. He leads Verve’s growth across issuance and acceptance, advancing its footprint across the continent and securing partnerships with global merchants like Google and Netflix. He also engages with the Central Bank of Nigeria on policies that promote financial inclusion and interoperability. Outside of work, Paul is an avid fitness enthusiast.
